A new series by the amazing creator behind Engine 999. This new series is called Tame and it focuses on a human named Kioshi and his cat demon named Nekeo. They are contracted together to help Kioshi learn and seek revenge on those who committed a bombing three years ago. There are other demons and a set of rules that is to be followed by each demon and their contracted human to ensure a smooth business transaction. But you know what they say about rules, all rules are meant to be broken or at least to some degree as time goes on. Let us begin!

Now, since the previous layout had me feeling unsure it was working well so I thought I would try altering it a bit to try and make it fit more for the fact it's a book. Sure an online comic but still, in my opinion, falls under a book so here are the new points I'm trying out to see how long it takes before they might not feel satisfactory again: Storyline (focus of the chapter, chapters or whole piece all together if complete), Visual (style and flow of the lines as well as detail), Characters (interactions with one another and their behaviors), and lastly Impact (did it cause any emotional feels and if so how well). Now let us begin!

> Storyline: This chapter we see Kioshi has arranged for a job interview and this time brought Nekeo along with him. Things quickly get derailed by Hisao who tries to get Kioshi focused on completing the contract with Nekeo. After a lovely meeting and one little girl getting possibly scared by fright, Kioshi and Nekeo make their way home with Kioshi frustrated by Hisao, for good reason. Nekeo decides to step outside and we learn Nekeo has family. This is also our introduction to a new character that can easily be reoccurring, in my opinion. After a family reunion and Nekeo demonstrating he does have as much, if not more, power as Kireina, we have a funny exit of the new character.

It was nice to get some more information on demons and we learn about there are class ranks. This was very action packed with great combat, spells and dialog. And we see another rule be changed.

> Visual: The artwork is beautiful with wonderful emotion and action. I love and cannot help but grin and giggle with a small fan girl squeal when seeing the new character. He has such a catchy grin such as how Conductor's grin is catchy from Engine 999. The display of blood is done tastefully which I enjoy very much. Some cannot do bloodshed in a respectful sense and make it too over the top. This is not so here. We see it, we know what it is and it's done so anyone who doesn't like bloodshed (in my opinion) would be able to handle it without losing their lunch.

The motion of the battle was well executed with it feeling very quick yet not too quick. It was long enough to give a thrill yet not too long that it would overstay its welcome. The use of magic was also a treat. I loved the detail on the magical circle used to summon and shoot out the blast spell. The transformation scenes were lovely and the reveal was very amusing as well as unexpected.

The expressions are top form as usual. The line work is clean and the background environment is beautifully detailed. The change of atmosphere was nicely done as it switched from calm to tense to thrilling and was brought back down to calm.

> Characters: Let's meet our newest character: Asashin which is a 200 year old demon in the assassin class. He is also Nekeo's brother of all things. This character had me liking him before he even took action. His posture and the exchanges he has with Nekeo are wonderful. The way they speak to the other reminds me of normal siblings, especially the opening line. He has a cockiness to him that is just lovable even though it's easy to see he means business. He uses a sword and is very quick on his feet. He's a threatening force...at least until he transforms and runs off in all his adorable little glory.

Kioshi felt right and like his eyes were slowly being opened to seeing what he meant to Nekeo. He hasn't seemed to realize how deeply Nekeo has bonded back with him, or not yet that is, it seemed while questioning the situation that a small part of him was putting some pieces together. Nekeo on the other hand I think also had some growth. We got to see him defend Kioshi even though that's not technically part of their contract, a big no-no. I loved how Nekeo and Asashin played off each other this chapter. It was just like seeing siblings who went different ways meet up after some years and have a squabble.

Hisao was himself that we saw last chapter and I'm fine with that. We do see he cares about the public's safety, and not causing unwanted attention to be drawn to them, by leaving Kireina at home. I liked him planning on not seeing if his demon would go into another blood lust fit just by seeing Nekeo. This leads me to assume her blood lust, possibly also with other demons, happens when a demon comes across one that has been shunned or is a threat to its master.

> Impact: This chapter was very thrilling with good humor. I enjoyed the fluidity of the action scenes and the humor did make me laugh. The cast feels to be in top form with an expression from Kioshi that spoke towards him slowly realizing his demon shared their bond just as strongly as him. I enjoyed learning about the classes of demons including about Nekeo having a brother. I am curious to how Hisao learned where Kioshi would be that day at that time. I loved Asashin's character and how he looked while balanced on the balcony bar in front of Kioshi.

I would recommend this series still as for the darker tones it has those lighter moments which are needed in some cases to keep things from being draining. The fight was epic and the character interactions were wonderful. Plus if they are technically blood brothers then that opens up a theory of Nekeo being a half-breed on top of being shunned. If they aren't related by blood and the word 'brother' is used in a general sense, I'm cool with that also.

I encourage anyone that views this review to go check out Tame for themselves on Deviantart or on Tapestic where some things are easier to read due to the pages being bigger. If you are also curious about the mentioned Engine 999 then you can also check that out on Deviantart.
