(This is technically incomplete and I will link the song that caused this to play in my head every time I listened to it below in the description >_> so enjoy I hope anyways. I also apologize if it seems...jumpy. As I said, this is incomplete because I have been having problems slowing it down and keeping the right energy flow so I'm doing my best to catch everything as the film moves through my head.)

(Basic idea as this will be starting nearer to the more actiony part >_<. A call was received about youthful men vanishing from a seaport town. All these men had last been seen with one woman and if they were married they vanished without word to their wives. The woman claims to have no idea what's going on either and expresses worry about some supernatural demon finding them. Assistant falls into this woman's spell over a number of days or so as she's a water fairy in disguise and has sucked the life out of the men to preserve her own youth and life. She can entrance men with her eyes and it's hard to detect because she keeps her magic low enough to not be easily noticeable yet strong enough to take gradual effect in time for her to feed. Without consuming/absorbing another's life, she would age and die as an average lifespan for a water fairy would roughly be 200 or 400 years at best and she's been around for longer than that. The vanishings have happened over a number of years with one or two going missing every so often, the consistency made to look random by the water fairy to make picking up on her feeding pattern harder. Conductor hadn't figured out what water source she originates from soon enough, as there are several streams/rivers, a couple lakes and a couple ponds within 200 to 500 yards from the port town, as well as there is the ocean. So Assistant didn't have a guarantee of not being entranced by her magic even with any protection spell or spells from Conductor. Water from the fairy's origins protects a carrier of it from that fairy's magic. Another way to disrupt the spell is to disrupt the water of their origin at the source. Oh and a fairy disrupting her own water origins while having an entranced meal there will not break the magic holding the victim under her spell.)

The night was quiet when Conductor woke in the middle of the night, rubbing sleep from his eyes as he yawned while feeling something was off. "Assistant?" he grumbled while sitting up and looked around the moonlit room. They had been having stakeouts without success and Assistant had seemed normal enough yet slightly off that evening. He blinked away the sleep while leaning over and flipping on the lamp. His heart jumped seeing the bed empty and his jacket gone. "Crap! This isn't good." He shot off the bed and out of the room, still fully dressed as he had fallen asleep from the late stakeouts before. He fled the room, racing downstairs and out the door.

Assistant was following the woman whose hair was changing from brown to a shimmering blue. Her sparkling jasper colored eyes were shifting to more of a pearlish blue with specks of yellow. "Isn't it such a wonderful night for a stroll?" she questioned and watched Assistant nod quietly with almost a blankness to his blue eyes. "I'm so glad you agree." She giggled as her pale lipstick shifted to more of a soft stream blue color. She moved her arm so they went from holding hands to her hugging his arm, cuddling up close to the teen as they walked towards her water home. Her ears began elongating at this point to stick out through her hair.

"Assistant!" Conductor shouted into the night air with worry as he ran as fast as he could. It would be some miles away from the town and near a somewhat wide river before two forms would be seeable in the moonlight. "There you are." He growl as his green eyes narrowed on the changed woman with his Assistant.

The water fairy stepped into the water first, gently leading Assistant towards the middle of it. "Come, let me show you something wonderful, young man." She purred without a care that he was a teenager, seemingly unaware of any approaching threat as Conductor gritted his teeth while charging a spell in both hands. Slowly she wrapped her arms around Assistant, looking into his eyes. Conductor released the two spells as he jumped up, aiming to disrupt the image of Assistant standing in the arms of one that wasn't the water fairy. The water fairy flicked a wrist up behind Assistant's neck, her gaze shifted to watch the teen with messy brown bed head hair dodge a pair of water streams. "Oh lookie who came for the closing show, the young man whose soul is beyond reach, at least for me."

Conductor dodged the strikes from the solid arms of water. "Let him go you fairy witch!" he snapped with seething anger she had her hands on the teen in blue.

"But he willingly came here to keep me company, right sweetie?" she purred while one delicate hand began stroking and playing with his black hair, her glowing orbs gazing into his blank blue eyes. Assistant nodded silently which brought a smile to her lips. "Good boy~" she cooed as she brought one hand around to stroke his cheek lovingly. "I think it's time to get this started." She chuckled before flicking her wrist to send the two arms at Conductor again. She proceeded to move closer to the teen in blue before gently locking lips with the boy. This caused the water around them to start shimmering and glowing with her magic activating to start taking the teen in blue's life.

"Sorry but he's not on the menu!" the teen in the white trench coat commented while dodging the water arms. He tried hitting the image only for the water arms to keep blocking. When one charged from one side and the other came from behind, both began opening up like a mouth. Conductor moved and got out a blast of magic before getting struck hard by both arms. He was lifted up off the ground some as he floated inside a ball of flowing water, held up by both arms that kept the water moving. He held his breath as he glared at her when she gave a 'sure she had won' glance.

The last blast he had shot off flew around the arms and struck the water, disrupting the reflection. Assistant closed his eyes tightly with a sharp inhale as his mind snapped out of the trance. He struggled and pushed the water fairy away as he stumbled backwards. "Ah!" she screeched while she fell back into the water that came up to her chest. Her breathing was hard and a trembling hand came up to feel small rough burns on her lips. "No," she whispered as she brought her other hand up to feel burn spots on her face and a few wrinkles around her eyes.

Assistant held his head with a hand as he kept standing with a somewhat wide stance. "Ugh, what just hit me?" he groaned as his mind was trying to catch up through the fog it had been in. He looked up at the panicked woman then over once a noise similar to a muffled explosion caught his ears. His eyes widened and face fell. "Conductor!" He started to move to get to his friend only to be thrown back by a wave.

She was panting hard and looking less than pretty. "You...how dare you interrupt my dinner? You little brat." She hissed, showing sharper teeth now as more of her facade was falling. She was glaring at Conductor who was trying a different spell. She sped up the water swirling that made up the ball. Shortly after that he twisted around, avoiding one then two and then three powerful drill like water jets from striking him directly. He did get a few cuts from them as she kept this up. "Hold still and let me screwer you." She barked with a cracking voice.

Assistant had gotten to his feet by this point and gripped his fists tightly. "Let him down now you old hag!" he shouted, deciding to worry about the fact he was recalling kissing that thing later. "Go find a skeleton to play with." He started walking up to her, glaring but this stern look broke once the water began moving violently. "Whoa!" the water serged around him and came up to his shoulders, swirling loudly and holding on tight.

She was now glaring at Assistant with a shaking hand raised towards him as the other was towards Conductor. "You will NOT insult something as beautiful as I." She hissed coldly. He winced as she closed her hand some and the water grew faster as well as tighter, securely keeping his arms pinned to his sides. This caused the water around Conductor to slow down just enough. The brown haired teen charged a spell and released it, blasting one of the arms into nothing but droplets. The water fairy screeched in pain as she took a step back, her arm recoiling before shooting out again with a new arm of water. "You bastard!" she coughed with her voice sounding more elderly with her declining health.

"Crap, this wasn't planned." Conductor muttered with his sopping wet form falling to the ground. He managed to get in a deep breath before being taken back up into a newly repaired water ball.

The water around Assistant began to slow then drop. He stepped back watching her when it hit him. But how do I... a bit of internal disgust crossed his mind and reflected on his face with the plan he thought of. At least mouthwash exists. He took a breath and tried to make his way over to her quietly before breaking into a run while her attention was on trying to run Conductor through with now four swirling water looking drills. Here goes nothing! he reached out, grabbed her face and forced her to lock lips with him as he closed his eyes tightly.

This threw the water fairy into shock and surprise, her focus dropping instantly. The water slowed down and Conductor quickly took the chance, using a spell to splatter the water out before quickly charging another spell with a spell circle starting to glow in front of his open hand. "Move!" he commanded and just as Assistant pulled back, turned and ran to put distance between them, Conductor let loose the spell. The water fairy gave a dying cry as she was struck by the magical blast.

As the spell ended, Conductor came down to land gently on the ground before his legs buckled and resulted in him falling to his knees. He breathed heavily before coughing and spitting out some water. "Conductor!" he looked up through wet strains of his brown locks and gave his normal smile to Assistant who ran up to him.

"Hey, glad you're back to your senses but I'm not sure how I feel about you kissing a corrupt fairy twice on the lips. Is there something you've been hiding from me when it comes to your type?" Conductor questioned teasingly while eyeing Assistant.

Assistant made a face at the thought that anyone would be attracted to something like that. "I hope you'e kidding mister swings both ways." He stated while offering to help his boss up.

Conductor accepted the help and got to his feet, dusting off his wet coat some before starting to ring it out a bit. "You know I am." He grinned as he gave a sly look to Assistant. "It's just so fun to make you look all cute whenever you get flustered." He teased before holding his palm up and open. "Now to get dry." A whirlwind formed in his hand then the wind spell activated, blowing upwards strongly. Assistant acted quickly this time and held his shirt down as Conductor held his jacket down with his hands coming to rest in his pockets. Once finished, Conductor looked to Assistant with a small chuckle in his throat from the glare he was getting. "It's much quicker and efficient."

"You have problems, anyone ever tell you that?" he wasn't thrilled with almost being caught off guard again with that spell.

"Nope, never in my life." Conductor remarked as he brought out a hand to move some stray hair out of Assistant's face, resulting in the teen in blue's cheeks to lightly heat up into a blush. "There we go. Now then, shall we go back and report their missing men should stop happening?"

Assistant nodded and began to walk back with Conductor before glancing behind him towards the now quiet river. "Did you really have to kill her?" he looked to the taller male at his side. "I mean, couldn't she had been spared and given some other form of food source?"

Sadly Conductor shook his head. "She was slowly dying and when fairies become corrupt, it's nearly impossible to bring them back out of it. She wanted to hold onto her youth and avoid death so badly, that she stole that life and vitality from others." He answered seriously as he shifted his green orbs to meet Assistant's blue gaze. "If I had let her live then the town and maybe others would have the problem of men disappearing. It would not had ended until she ran out of victims and then she would have perished a slow, and agonizing death of feeling her body slowly rotting away."

"That's..." Assistant shivered as he tried to not even imagine how that might feel. "So I guess ending her life was the better choice." Conductor nodded softly. "Do you think the town's people are going to be fine with knowing it was a fairy stealing and killing the men?"

Conductor shrugged, "dunno. Some might but others might not. It kind of depends but at least that water fairy finally has peace and didn't have to suffer too much." Assistant nodded as they made their way into the town to report to the mayor about the men and the water fairy.
Man do I feel rusty -rubs back of head- it's been a while since I last wrote an E999 fan fiction so I'm hoping nothing is too bad ^^;. This scene has been in my head for days whenever I'd hear the song on the radio and more so when I found a nightcore version of it which is what I listened to to write this. I again hope it's alright and that I didn't mess Conductor or Assistant up in any spot badly >_<.

Song Listened To: Nightcore - Down By The River
(I know the song lyrics have little to nothing to do with this so I have no idea why it kept putting this in my head upon each listen to its original and nightcore version >_> if I could learn how my mind worked that would be amazing lol )

Credit for Engine 999, Conductor and Assistant belongs to :icontailzkip:

Thank you to :iconmasternoble56: for letting me show and talk over what was in my head to get the rest of it straightened out ^^
