Aphelia Magic Element Symbols

Description

Origins is put on hold until I've released more stories/books taking place in Aphelia since the way it's written now (and I feel very pleased with) works more as a reference guide instead of an introduction to Aphelia. So I thought I'd share a little from it here. One of those topics in the book covers how magic works in a basic sense. There's not too much detail focused in on each element as that's being saved for something else, as a different book would focus on the different things each element is capable of doing under the right conditions and channeler.

The artwork was done by the awesome :icontailzkip: who made my original designs look like I had envisioned but couldn't get right on my own. I added their names by them and the letter for their element setting if common or rare. I also put them all on one canvas as before they were separate, as in the book they will be on their own pages. I love how clean and detailed she was able to do. Go check out her gallery and she's open for commissions with fair prices. She's very nice to work with, great communication and I'd highly recommend her. You can go to her user page here by clicking on her icon in this paragraph or at the bottom ^_^

Here's the piece focused on magic from Origins of Aphelia:

> Magic <

There are 2 elements of magic: Common and Rare. There are also titles given to magic users and non-magic users who are simply scholars of magic. We will begin with the titles given to those able to practice or that can only study but not execute magic. Those who cannot use magic but still study it will have the word Scholar before their title. Those who can use magic and practice its execution/use will simply be given a title. The level of skill and knowledge are judged the same for both learners.

~1> Scholar/Magician: Given to one who is newly starting out in the ways of magic.

~2> Scholar/Witch/Wizard: Given to one who is not quite halfway in the ways of magic but is not as wet behind the ears.

~3> Scholar/Mage: Given to one who has reached a halfway point in the ways of magic.

~4> Scholar/Sorcerer/Sorceress: Given to one who has yet to reach the upper part in the ways of magic yet has advanced enough past the halfway part.

~5> Scholar/Magick: Given to one who has reached the upper part in the ways of magic yet is not in the top part in the ways of magic.

~6> Scholar/Sage: Given to one who has reached the top of the magic teachings. Those with this title are teachers to others wishing to learn magic. If one has Scholar attached to their title then they would need to have one with the title of Sage there to assist in demonstrating the execution of any spells they are discussing to a class/individual student.

Now let’s get into the elements that make up the magic in Aphelia. There are 14 elements. 9 Are common as 5 are rare. There are traits for both categories that bring these elements into their respected classification.

Common Elements follow the following points:

~> The magic form does not affect their physical matching form.
~> The magic form can be summoned without the need of the physical form.
~> The magic form can be used for offensive, defensive and supportive means.
~> The magic form has no default set color so takes on the color willed by the caster.
~> The magic form can be amplified by using its physical form with it.

Common Elements are: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Sand, Light, Darkness, Ice, and Lightning

Rare Elements follow the following points:

~> The magic form does affect their physical matching form.
~> The magic form has side effects for the caster during prolonged use.
~> The magic form has no default color so it can take on a color willed by the caster.
~> The magic form requires near continuous training and monitoring.
~> The magic form if left untrained and unsupervised will result in the death of the caster, as well as possibly any other people nearby.

Rare Elements are: Life, Death, Time, Reflection, and Void

There are also items that have been enchanted or created by magic from both groups. These items range from innocent to life changing. This with the elements themselves will be covered in another book in the future.

I hope people enjoy this little bit of information and the artwork made better by :icontailzkip:

Chapter 2 of Book 3 of Endless is coming along slowly. I might have it done...eventually ^^; >_> I'm going to stick with blaming this weather for the fluctuation of energy as it's been very hot to where the feel like is near or in the 100 degree's F.
